In our first hour, our experienced guides will cover essential topics such as proper attire, essential hiking gear for half day hikes, safety precautions, effective stretching techniques, and recommended routes to explore. Whether you're a beginner hiker or looking to refresh your skills, this hour is packed with valuable insights to enhance your outdoor experience.

After the workshop, it's time to put theory into practice as we embark on a guided hike along scenic trails. Immerse yourself in nature's beauty while applying the tips and tricks learned in our workshop. Our knowledgeable guides will lead the way, pointing out landmarks and sharing their knowledge to ensure a memorable and enjoyable hike for beginner skill levels.

Location: Woodend Conservation Area, 1 Taylor Rd, Niagara on the Lake

11:30 am - 1:30 pm

Distance: approx 3 km

Terrain: Single track dirt trails with uneven surfaces and some inclines and declilnes.. Rocks and roots in some areas.

Level: Beginner. Average fitness level.

What to Bring:

  • small backpack

  • water/snack

  • dress in layers for the weather

  • trail shoes or boots

  • hat/sunglasses

  • sunscreen

  • bug spray

In the event of cancellation due of heavy rain, high winds, or lightening on the day of workshop, we will offer a reschedule date. You’ll have the option of attending the new date, accepting a credit for a future event, or receiving a full refund. We do not cancel for light or misty rain, however we do accommodate a sheltered area for the workshop.

$30 pp (includes taxes) $10 from every registration will be donated to Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority (NPCA) for preservation and conservation of the local trails.
